Spartan Visitors, KISS50 Success, and Community Connections

October brought national attention, packed sidewalks, and new opportunities to strengthen Downtown Cadillac’s connection to residents, visitors, and local businesses.

MSU Spartan Bus Tour Makes First Stop in Cadillac

Downtown Cadillac welcomed the 2025 MSU Spartan Bus Tour as the first stop on its statewide journey.

Hosted at The Market at Cadillac Commons, the visit highlighted the new mural on the Cadillac Printing Company building, painted by local artist Gabby Hanson through support from Michigan ArtShare and MSU Extension. Visitors praised Cadillac’s public art, downtown improvements, lake views, and vibrant atmosphere, with many expressing interest in returning to explore the community further.

Downtown Trick-or-Treat Draws Big Crowds

Downtown Trick-or-Treat once again filled Mitchell Street with families, costumes, and community spirit.

Participating businesses reported record candy giveaways throughout the evening. Sims Chiropractic distributed more than 1,500 pieces of candy and treat bags, while G&D Party Store handed out more than 1,400 pieces of candy during the event. The annual tradition continues to be one of Downtown Cadillac’s most popular family events.

KISS50 Brings Worldwide Attention to Cadillac

The KISS50 Cadillac Reunion generated significant excitement throughout downtown and beyond.

According to organizers, the event resulted in more than 100 media stories while bringing visitors from across the country and around the world to Cadillac. Businesses reported strong sales, themed merchandise sold out, restaurants experienced record activity, and local fundraising events connected to KISS50 generated thousands of dollars for community organizations.

Additional highlights included:

  • More than 700 tickets sold for the KISS50 Rockumentary
  • Over 100 attendees at KISS Bingo benefiting Jam & Bread
  • A 500% increase in visitors to the Wexford County Historical Museum
  • Strong participation in the KISS50 5K fundraiser

An online charity auction featuring KISS50 memorabilia is planned for November.

Small Business Round-Up Returns November 6

The next Small Business Round-Up will be held at City2Shore Northern Michigan.

Topics include digital media strategies, business growth resources, small business development opportunities, and a discussion focused on reflecting on the 2025 season and planning for the future.

Share Your Vision for Downtown’s Future

The DDA continues to seek public feedback through both the Downtown Street Safety Survey and the City Dock Restoration Survey.

Community input will help guide future investments in walkability, accessibility, waterfront connections, and public spaces as Cadillac continues planning for long-term downtown improvements.
